HOUSTON, TX - AUGUST 12, 1997 - Pyramid Software Solutions has released the premiere version of TimeSlice Companion™ for the Macintosh, a time management and tracking system developed in the award winning FileMaker Pro database application from Claris Corporation. TimeSlice Companion is designed to assist professionals such as accountants, lawyers, graphic designers and all those who track, bill, and manage their time. It combines powerful contact and time record management to enable customized billing and reporting that is both flexible and easy to use. TimeSlice Companion is designed especially for use with Maui Software’s TimeSlice and TimeSlice Lite products. It reads time records exported from TimeSlice and links them to the appropriate client information stored in the Client database (a part of the integrated system). The time records can then be managed in a variety of useful ways. Invoices can be generated as well as a multiplicity of informative reports.
TimeSlice Companion is networkable as well, so your whole office can store, access, and report from time records that are all centrally located and maintained.It can be completely customized, in addition, through the use of FileMaker Pro. FileMaker Pro however, is not needed in order to use the program.

This release will make TimeSlice Companion completely cross-platform and enable it to be used in mixed network environments, and/or share the data files between TimeSlice Companion running on Macintosh and Windows computers.

TIMESLICE COMPANION OVERVIEW:
TimeSlice Companion consists of three main sections (which are separate but linked databases). The clients section is a full featured contact manager and activity log. The billing section is where invoices are managed and stored, and the jobs section handles time records, with support for both time based or hourly rate records as well as project based or flat rate records. There is a fourth section as well, where preferences for both the individual level and the network level are set and stored and which allow for user customization such as the user’s name or preference for default letter close along side network level customization such as company name and automated backup settings.
TimeSlice Companion also has a stopwatch feature which can be used to generate and record time records, but as the product’s name suggests, TimeSlice Companion is especially designed for use in tandem with the popular TimeSlice family of time record generating and recording products by Maui Software. With one click of the mouse, exported TimeSlice records are imported into TimeSlice Companion and automatically matched to the appropriate client information leaving them ready for billing and/or reviewing. If during the import process, TimeSlice Companion should encounter a TimeSlice time record with a client record not yet present in the system, a new client is automatically generated with the data from the time record so that the new client record is linked and ready to receive any further information needed for billing purposes.
